We are not a storm-chasing crew that shows up after a hail event and disappears by fall. You deal with the owner, you get a free inspection with photos, a written scope and price before anything starts, and a roof installed to the manufacturer's specification with the underlayment, flashing and ventilation the builder usually skipped.

Roofs in Central Texas: what's different here

Central Texas is hard on roofs, and the reasons are the same from Manor and Pflugerville out to Georgetown, Kyle and the Hill Country. Most of the housing stock in the region went up between 2005 and 2022, built fast by production builders with builder-grade architectural shingles, minimal ridge ventilation and the thinnest underlayment allowed. Those roofs hit the end of their useful life around year twelve to fifteen here, well before the number printed on the shingle wrapper, and one strong hail season can finish them early.

Three things drive that. Heat: attic temperatures on a Central Texas roof run well over 130°F for months, cooking the asphalt and pushing granules off the south and west slopes first. Hail: the corridor from eastern Travis County up through Williamson County is one of the most active in the country, and most springs bring at least one storm with hail large enough to bruise shingles across whole subdivisions. Soil: east of I-35 it is Blackland Prairie clay that swells and shrinks with the seasons, moving foundations enough to open gaps at wall flashing and crack older pipe boots; west of I-35 it is thin soil over limestone, with trees, wind and steeper custom roofs bringing their own problems. A roof here needs to be inspected after storms and looked at closely once it passes ten years, and when it is replaced it should get real underlayment, real ventilation and, for most homeowners, a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle.
